Being overweight can be just as problematic as being underweight. The health consequences can be risky, if not fatal. As a matter of fact, patients who are obese die younger. Moreover, exceeding your ideal weight can put you at risk for the following:

DIABETES: It has been found that there’s a parallel increase of the diabetes threads in overweight people. In the United States, 60% of the population is gaining weight, and type2 diabetes is increasing in prevalence as well. Similarly, here in the Philippines, you can see children are very big, and you will see that the prevalence of diabetes also increases.
ARTHRITIS: Due to increasing weight, joint pains leading to arthritis couldn’t be far behind. Besides, even if you tell them to exercise, they cannot move anymore because their weight is so heavy.
SLEEP APNEA: This is a sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing. They are so big and the lungs become affected. This makes them prone to sudden death because you cannot breath properly that’s why you snore.
INFERTILITY: Because weight affects process such as ovulation, and even quality sperm production, infertility is a consequence for overweight males and females.
SOCIAL STIGMA: Although not a medical consequences, it’s one that’s equally important. We’re a country that’s vain, even if we are very poor country. Almost all of the girls wanted to be thin and when they see this on TV, it puts signal on their brains so fat will really stigmatized.
